NGC 3247 also known as RCW 49, is a H II region nebula located 13,700 light years away. Commonly known as the Whirling Dervish Nebula. The bright star in this image is HD 90772 or V399 Carinae which is 206 times bigger than the sun and is 7000 ly away.
